Belisario Betancur, Colombian President between 1982 and 1986, affirmed last Tuesday on a local radio station that there will be no second re-election because President Álvaro Uribe will not present himself as a presidential candidate. He went on to say that without the second re-election, Colombians will be able to choose from a wide array of good proposals and strong candidates from the various political parties.
