Colombia Expels Venezuelan Policeman Who Entered Country Illegally

April 12--Colombian authorities on Sunday expelled a Venezuelan police officer who was found in a border town after entering the country illegally, the DAS security agency said in a communique.

“Since October of last year, with this one, there have been six cases of members of the Venezuelan public (police) force who, upon being found illegally in Colombian territory, in less than 36 hours have been returned to their country, respecting their integrity, guaranteeing their rights and adhering to the rule of law,” said the text.

DAS immigration authorities handed over the municipal police officer with the city of Maracaibo, Hector Jose Fuenmayor Chacin, to officials with Venezuela’s SAIME immigration service.
