Nov 11 -- The US-Colombia FTA may be approved late next year despite president-elect Barack Obama's campaign rhetoric against it.

Colombia FTA Next Year?

While the U.S. Congress may vote on a free trade agreement with Colombia before Barack Obama becomes U.S. president in January, it is unlikely to do so, experts say.

"The reality at this point is that, though possible, the likelihood of concluding Colombia in the lame-duck is less likely than before," says Eric Farnsworth, vice president of the Council of the Americas.
