Colombia's Stocks: Potential, Pessimism

Jan 15 -- Even after the pain of last year, Colombian investors are bracing for more red ink in the local stock market, with the country's export revenue vulnerable to U.S. economic weakness and sagging oil prices.

"Our thesis is pretty pessimistic," said Ricardo Pérez, a market analyst with local brokerage Alianza Valores. "Structurally, the U.S. economic data will keep doing badly, dragging down the stock market in the U.S. and elsewhere, including Colombia."
