Former congressman held by FARC for 8 years is freed
Oct 26 -- A former Colombian congressman who was held captive for eight years by leftist rebels was freed Sunday in a military operation, the local authorities and a family member said.

The former legislator, Óscar Tulio Lizcano, 62, was rescued early Sunday in a rural part of Choco province in western Colombia, said Henry Murillo, governing secretary of Caldas Province.
