Leader of Armed Group Surrenders in Colombia
Jun 01 -- A man suspected of leading an armed group and of being involved in drug trafficking in the northwestern Colombian city of Medellin has surrendered a week after being released from custody, officials said.

Alirio de Jesus Rendon turned himself in on Saturday to prosecutor’s office representative Jairo Herran outside a private clinic in the western section of Medellin.
Herran said relatives and attorneys for Rendon asked on Friday that he serve as a guarantor of the suspect’s security.
Rendon had asked that he be allowed to receive treatment for a heart ailment diagnosed at the Palmira prison, where he was held until May 21.
