In this, his first Christmas time with his family after many years, the former hostage of the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces cannot hide his happiness. However, he is certain that he will not be fully happy as long as his comrades remain in the jungle, longing for freedom. He advocates a settlement with the potential involvement of the presidents of Venezuela and Brazil.

How was the reunion with your family after so many years?

It was a virtually easy process, much easier than expected. Among others, because first thing we did was to understand that all of us changed. My behavior and way of thinking substantially changed. My family acted accordingly, because they had to play, due to tragic circumstances, a role they were not ready to play. But we are doing well, because we have accepted such changes and have agreed to build again our home.
