Feb 25 -- America will accept only 10,000 Colombian refugees for political asylum to protect them from the guerillas (what we like to call ‘terrorists’) who are at the heart of the drug wars in South America.

In yesterday’s news from Bogota, (Xinhua), the indigenous Awa people are said to be presently searching for the bodies of victims allegedly killed by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). They say that as many as 27 of its members have been killed by the FARC, the largest guerrilla group in Colombia.

Ten thousand eligible for political asylum—up from 5,000—with 200 times that number on the run. That leaves an estimated 1,990,000 Colombians who will be turned down, and then some…because there are other nation’s refugees to be considered as well. But those are just numbers: Numbers without faces or names.
