Spanish judge Baltasar Garzón will be working in Colombia as an adviser to the Organization of American States’ mission (OAS). Contrary to what had been discussed, he will not be directly related with the government, but President Juan Manuel Santos agreed to his appointment. Garzón will verify the paramilitary demobilization process and will work on Human Rights issues in the country. He is scheduled to begin in May. The final details are being coordinated at the OAS headquarters in Washington.
