Colombia back in World Cup race

30 de marzo de 2009

Colombia’s national football team had to win against Bolivia to continue alive in the World Cup Qualifiers, and they did with a 2-0 victory. Macnelly Torres scored the first goal after 27 minutes with a good shot that beat goalkeeper Carlos Arias and Wason Rentería made it 2-0 shortly before the end with a header.

Both Uruguay and Chile, Colombia’s main opponents for a spot in the South Africa World Cup, won their respective matches. To keep the dream alive, Colombia must beat Venezuela on Tuesday, in Puerto Ordaz.
