Colombian government denies that FARC military leader is in agony

According to the information in Spanish published in the daily El Nuevo Herald, based in Miami, ‘Mono Jojoy’, the military leader of the FARC, is seriously ill with diabetes and is in agony. 

The newspaper writes that constant military operations have stopped ‘Mono Jojoy’ from receiving the insulin he needs to survive. According to some of the people quoted by the Miami Herald, the guerrilla leader is terminally ill.

Juan Manuel Santos, Colombia’s minister of Defense, said that, according to the intelligence information he has, the rebel is ill and surrounded by members of the Armed Forces, but is not agonizing.
