The Colombian government claimed to have evidence of the presence of FARC leaders in Venezuela. When asked about it, president-elect Juan Manuel Santos said he have “nothing to say”. He then stated, however, that both countries should “initiate a dialogue” in order to solve the guerrilla-in-Venezuela issue. According to the current Defense Minister, Gabriel Silva, rebels Ivan Márquez and Rodrigo Granda are among the FARC members settled in the neighboring country.
