Former US hostages’ book says Ingrid Betancourt was haughty and self-absorbed
The three Americans that were held captive by the FARC have just published a book in which they accuse politician Ingrid Betancourt, who shared their captivity, of being arrogant and out of control, according to information published by The Associated Press.
"I watched her try to take over the camp with an arrogance that was out of control," Keith Stansell told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday. "Some of the guards treated us better than she did."
The book also says Betancourt used to steal food and hoard books, and even endangered the three Americans lives by telling the FARC guards they were CIA agents. The politician hasn’t replied to the accusations.
