Freed hostage thanks troops who received him after he escaped from the guerrilla

30 de diciembre de 2008

The politician and former hostage, Óscar Tulio Lizcano, arrived in Riosucio, in Chocó province, full of presents for the army. He wanted to thank the troops that helped him after escaping in October from the FARC with guerrilla Wilson Bueno alias 'Isaza', who is now living in France.

"Please try and come to an agreement as soon as possible so that the rest can also be freed. Who are still there must fight on. I hope there is a definite peace process that can put an end to this dreadful scourge" Lizcano admitted before leaving the town.

Two weeks ago, Colombian army killed guerrilla John Freddy Chiquito Peláez, alias "Federico", who allegedly took part in Lizcano's kidnapping. Apart from that Wilson Alonso Ruiz Jaramillo was also captured. He played chess with Lizcano during the ordeal and was in charge of the politician's security.
