HRW accuses FARC of murdering 17 members of an indigenous groups
According to Human Rights Watch, FARC guerrillas murdered 17 members of the indigenous group Awá, in Nariño province, southern Colombia.
Governor of that province, Antonio Navarro Wolff, also confirmed that FARC had committed the massacre and admitted that the rebels had accused the indigenous peasants of helping the Colombian army.
The United Nations Refugee Agency also urged the Colombian government to investigate the murder and expressed fears that it could worsen the situation of the Awa group and cause displacement.
