Inspector General: "Referendum is Constitutional"

Alejandro Ordoñez, Colombia's Inspector General, delivered his advise to the Constitutional Court on the referendum that would permit president Uribe to run for a second re-election. He said the referendum was constitutional and that the people could change the constitution through popular action. He also asked the Constitucional Court to give way to the referendum. Now, Humberto Sierra Porto, a Constitutional court magistrate must elaborate the final document in the next thirty days. The Court has 60 days to decide whether to approve or deny the re-electionist referendum
