IV Round of Colombia-EU FTA negotiations extended

The IV negotiating round between Colombia, Perú, Ecuador and the EU will conclude today, Friday. Important topics include bananas, sugar and intellectual property, which have faced some obstacles during the discussion.

According to the Peruvian Representative, Eduardo Brandes, this round proved to be useful in topics such as the agricultural sector.

Rupert Schegelmilch, Chief Negotiator of the European Union, stated that this is not a block negotiation. On the contrary, the system allows the parties to negotiate individually as well.

The next meeting will be in Lima, Perú, on the 20th July.
