22 de marzo de 2011

Gloria Gaona, the judge that was presiding a child murder case in Tame, Arauca (East of Colombia), was shot to death on Tuesday, police reported. Gaona was investigating the controversial assassination of three siblings -ages 6, 9 and 14-, in which the principal suspect is army 2nd lieutenant Raúl Muñoz Linares. The children were killed on October, 2010, and 60 members of the Army’s 5th Mobile Brigade were subsequently investigated. After condemning Gaona’s murder, Colombian government offered a reward of 500 million pesos ($270.000 dollars) for information and created a commission in order to investigate the case.
