Mockus leads presidential poll for the first time

27 de abril de 2010

Presidential candidate from the Green Party Antanas Mockus is ahead with 38 percent of popular support, while Juan Manuel Santos from the U Party is in the second place with 29 percent, according to the survey from a media alliance (RCN Radio and TV and Semana Magazine) released on Monday. Santos led all the previous polls, but Mockus has been growing in the last weeks. In a runoff, Mockus would win with 50 points, and Santos would get 37 percent. In Colombia, a presidential candidate needs more than 50 percent of the votes to be elected in the first round.
