President Uribe meets with Hillary Clinton

On Monday, Colombian President, Álvaro Uribe, had a brief meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, during the inauguration of Uruguay’s new State leader, José Mújica. Clinton confirmed Washington's plans to carry on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the country, although the government is not sure how long it would take the U.S. Congress to approve the pact. According to the U.S. Trade Policy Agenda, Colombia first needs to improve worker rights in order to sign the FTA.
