President Uribe will meet President Correa at Rio Summit

22 de febrero de 2010

Cancun, Mexico will host this year's Rio Summit, a meeting where various Latin American countries gather to discuss regional integration. During this event, Colombian president Álvaro Uribe will sit down with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Rafael Correa, to continue re-establishing relationships, broken since the Colombian army attacked a FARC camp inside Ecuadorian territory and murdered FARC Chief Raúl Reyes in March 2008. Although Correa confirmed the meeting, he told the press to refrain from expecting full harmony because, in his opinion, Colombia had not upheld its part of the deal and had not delivered all documents relating to the attack to Ecuadorian officials.
