Santos says that relations with Ecuador are “increasingly consolidated”

6 de mayo de 2011

President Juan Manuel Santos met on Thursday Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa, who came to Colombia as the keynote speaker for the International Book Fair in Bogotá. After the meeting, in which both leaders discussed bilateral relations, Santos stated that “everything is flowing positively. I believe this relationship will grow stronger, increasingly strengthening cooperation on several fronts”. Meanwhile, Correa expressed his support to the victims of the winter season and pointed that “we are here to stay forever in the hearts of Colombia”. Both countries are trying to end a two years and a half period of frozen relations that started when Colombian troops attacked a FARC camp in Ecuador without any authorization.
