Santos to meet Chavez in Santa Marta

9 de agosto de 2010

Presidents of Colombia and Venezuela, Juan Manuel Santos and Hugo Chávez, will hold a summit next Tuesday in Colombia’s northern city of Santa Marta. Newly sworn-in Santos stated that he hopes “that in this meeting we can draw conclusions that lead to the normalization of relations between the two countries." The meeting was scheduled by the two nations’ Foreign Ministers after a Venezuela’s delegation attendance to the new Colombian President’s inauguration.

Santos has made it clear that his government intends to improve bi national relations, after a very conflictive period.
