Singer Juanes said he is willing to mediate with Farc

2 de octubre de 2008

During a press conference previous to a concert he is giving in Costa Rica tonight, Colombian singer Juanes said that he was willing to work as a mediator in case there would be any kind of negotiation with the Farc guerrilla. He also assured that no one in the government has ever asked him to participate in such a mediation, and that he didn’t believe, given the current situation in Colombia, a negotiation might take place any time soon.

In what seemed to be a very political interview with the press he also criticized the catholic church for opposing gay marriage, the use of condoms and the legalization of abortion. He said: “everyone is free to manage their lives however they wish and that has to be respected. Freedom is very important”.
