Outgoing Colombian President Álvaro Uribe said he might consider joining the race to become the next mayor of Bogota after he finishes his term as president. During an interview with RCN radio station Uribe stated that “the country deserves a prosperous capital city”, and said that starting august 7th, when he is set to abandon the presidential palace, he will be dedicated to give conferences about local governance in small regions. The race to become Bogotá's next mayor will take place in October 2011.
