U.S. House of Representatives approves trade preferences (Atpeda) for Colombia

The trade preferences for Colombia was approved today by the House of Representatives and the extension will be for one more year starting on January 1st, which is when the current deal expires. From the countries in the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act (Atpdea), Peru also received an extension of trade preferences for a whole year. Ecuador and Bolivia only got another six months, because according to U.S. congress they are still lacking some conditions made for the war against drugs, but if they are willing to carry out those petitions they could count with six more months.
