Odebrecht and two other firms will compete with a group led by Spain's Obrascon Huarte Lain SA (OHL.MC), two groups led by Colombian investors and a fourth group that includes local firms and China Railway Shisiju Group Corp, according to the Colombian Concession Institute, the agency in charge of overseeing road concessions.

The government will grant the rights to build and run three stretches of the four-lane highway that will link Villeta, 50 kilometers north of Bogota, and Cienaga on the Caribbean coast, 20 kilometers south of the port of Santa Marta.

The government dubbed the highway the "Ruta del Sol," the road to the sun in Spanish.

The concession was first scheduled to be auctioned in July but was delayed and the auction will be held in December.
