During the 39th General Assembly of the OAS in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Colombia was elected to be the host of the next Summit of the Americas, to be held in 2013.
“We receive this news with satisfaction. It is very important for Colombia to lead this process. We thank all those countries which supported this initiative and our Government team who took part in it”, said Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaime Bermúdez.
