Javier Solana, the European Union Official for International Relations, visited Bogotá and recommended President Uribe to refrain from seeking a third term in office. Solana also stated that seeking constitutional changes for such a personal matter was not well seen. The EU, however, has not affirmed an official position on the president's re-election because the matter has not been discussed yet.
