Human Rights in Colombia
Oct 1 -- Foreign Office Minister, Kim Howells, has commented on reports that 46 individuals in Northern Colombia have recently died in extra-judicial killings.
'Reports of the deaths of 46 individuals in northern Colombia are a cause for great concern. I welcome the action taken by the UN Human Rights office in Colombia, which has called on the Colombian authorities to coordinate efforts to tackle and end apparent extra-judicial killings, and urgently to adopt measures to prevent, investigate, punish and publicise those responsible for such acts. Extra-judicial killing has no place in a civilised and democratic society.
