Brazil will provide helicopters for hostage release

23 de enero de 2009

Two Colombian politicians and four members of the armed forces are to be released soon by the FARC. The negotiations, announced in December and carried on throughout the past month, reached a dead point when the FARC asked for an international collaboration. The International Committee of the Red Cross is coordinating the operation alongside Liberal Party Senator Piedad Córdoba. It has been said that Brazil will supply two helicopters, according to a confidential source quoted by Reuters.
