Human Rights in Colombia are critical: NGOs

29 de marzo de 2011

During a hearing before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), several NGOs stated that Human Rights' situation in Colombia is still ‘very grave’. According to them, violations by the security forces, extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances and persecution to trade unionists persist and should be carefully monitored in Colombia. The NGOs documented at least 10 extrajudicial executions and 80 assassinations of trade unionists and leaders during last year. Most of them were registered after Juan Manuel Santos became President.
