Juan Manuel Santos launches his presidential bid

On Monday afternoon, Partido de la U officially launched former Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos as its 2010 presidential candidate. During his first speech he said his main goal was to continue on President Álvaro Uribe’s politics, and to "extend Democratic Security to the last corner of the country". Today, Santos will register his vice presidential aspirant, which some media anticipated could be the former governor of Valle del Cauca, Angelino Garzón.
