Nicaragua denies arms trafficking in Colombia

On Wednesday, the Nicaraguan army denied that an international arms trafficking gang smuggled weapons from its arsenal into Colombia. According to General Julio Cesar Aviles, the chief of Nicaragua's Armed Forces, "it can be assured that the inventories are safe”. Recently, Colombia's intelligence service DAS found that a group from Central American countries was trafficking rockets, rifles and machine guns with Colombian paramilitaries.
