Process to release six hostages has started, according to liberal party senator Piedad Córdoba

22 de enero de 2009

Colombian daily El Espectador published on Thursday that Senator Piedad Córdoba already knows which South American country will offer the required assistance to start the process which will conclude with six Colombians being freed.

She refused to say which country has decided to help, although she did admit it is neither Venezuela nor Ecuador.

Exactly a month ago the FARC announced it would release six hostages: two former politicians, three policemen and a soldier. Up to now, not many details have been confirmed on whether and when they will be freed.
