US Congressman McGovern is proposed as international representative in FARC hostage release

Senator Piedad Córdoba brought out Democratic congressman James McGovern’s name as a candidate to intervene in the release of the six Colombian hostages that was announced by the FARC in December. According to Córdoba, the congressman is seen as neutral party. This proposal comes just after the FARC rejected the idea of the Catholic Church as a negotiating agent.
