Colombian Vice President Angelino Garzón will meet with the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, and with the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. He will also gather with the presidents of commercial committees on both the Senate and the House of Representatives, to try to extend preferences of the ATPDEA. Garzón has an important agenda facing the United States labor unions and human rights groups, leading opponents of the Free Trade Agreement ratification. He will be in Washington between January 22 and 29. This will be the first official trip of the Colombian Government to the United States during Juan Manuel Santos’ administration.
