Gabriel Silva, new ambassador in Washington

President-elect Juan Manuel Santos announced he will appoint current Defense Minister, Gabriel Silva Luján, as new Colombian ambassador to the United States. Santos highlighted, while being in Lima, Perú, what Silva accomplished as head of the Defense Ministry. “I’m sure that he (Silva), who always had good relations with Perú, will improve them as well as maintain them from Washington”, said Santos on Tuesday. Silva is to take possession of his new job on August 7th.
