The former president of Argentina and General Secretary of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), Néstor Kirchner, will meet with the presidents of Colombia and Venezuela in the days to come. He intends to mediate in the conflict that got loose on Thursday between the two nations. Kirchner, husband to the current president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, will visit Caracas on August 5 to meet president Hugo Chávez, before flying to Bogotá to meet both president Alvaro Uribe and president-elect Juan Manuel Santos.
