Weather caused the closing of seven major roadways in Colombia, just days before the beginning of the Holy Week, in which thousands of people travel throughout the country to spend their vacation days. In addition to the closed roads there are several others that have restricted access. At least 45 people have died in accidents related to weather conditions in April, while 69 have lost their lives since the start of 2011. Heavy rains will likely extend until May, according to some experts in weather.
