Tolu, about 175 km from Cartagena, is a delightful little beach town which goes unnoticed in the guide books. Colombians, however, have discovered its delights, which means there are plenty of hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
The beach in Tolu may not be as stunningly beautiful as some of the others to be found in the area, but the water is warm and refreshing nevertheless. The friendliness of the people, however, make up for that lack. You’ll feel totally welcome and comfortable as you wander around the streets taking in all the local sights and sounds.
