Senator Piedad Córdoba removed from office

27 de septiembre de 2010

Colombian Senator Piedad Córdoba was banned on Monday from working in the public sector for 18 years. The decision was made by the country’s Inspector General, Alejandro Ordóñez, who argued that the Senator held ties with the FARC guerrilla, according to the information found in the computer of deceased guerrilla leader Edgar Devia, AKA ‘Raúl Reyes’. Córdoba’s first public reaction was seen in her Twitter account where she wrote: “Good afternoon, friends. Right now I’m with my lawyers discussing the Inspector’s decision”.
