Green Party requests Uribe to speak on Inspector General’s decisions on wiretapping scandals

5 de octubre de 2010

Green Party chairman, Luís Eduardo Garzón said that former president Alvaro Uribe should say something about the Inspector General’s last decisions on the wiretapping scandal process against some DAS (Administrative Department of Security) staff members and against some of his closest aides. Some the latter were removed and barred from holding public office after their involvement in the spying acts were proven. “Here’s the million dollar question: You cannot have the involvement of four DAS directors, of the general presidential secretary and of other staff members and nothing has happened”, said Garzón, who also sustained that president Uribe controlled every detail so as not to perceive what was happening. “Either the wiretappings were made behind Uribe’s back or with his permission”.
