Half of all trade unionists murdered in 2009 were Colombians

According to the International Trade Union Confederation, 48 trade unionists were murdered in Colombia out of 101 who were assassinated worldwide in 2009. After the report was released, President Álvaro Uribe recalled that the International Labour Organization recently excluded the country from a list of nations that failed to comply with international workers' conditions.
