Colombia Finds 2 Drug-Smuggling Subs
Jun 02 -- Colombian authorities found in a rural area of the country’s northwestern Caribbean coast two submarines, each capable of transporting six tons of drugs, the armed forces said.

The navy said in a statement that the submarines were hidden in a sector of the mouth of the Tumarado River, a tributary of the Atrato River, ready to be loaded with cocaine.
The two impounded vessels were valued at close to 2 billion pesos ($900,000), and both, according to officials, are equipped with sophisticated navigation systems.
