Colombia Won't Qualify For The World Cup - Colombian Legend Carlos Valderrama

Former Colombian national team captain Carlos Valderrama doesn't think his country will qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

"I think we have been eliminated, because if we reach 26 points, the other teams will also have a chance. I'm being realistic, if we had to depend on ourselves, one says 'we will fight', but it is complicated when you have to rely on other results," Valderrama told Antena 2 of Colombia.

Valderrama, who is considered to many as the best Colombian footballer of all time, believes that even if Colombia don't qualify for the World Cup, Eduardo Lara should continue to be the coach of the side.

"I admire the professor Lara, because the work he did with the youth players was very good. He made players emerge, he won titles, but the truth is they were very difficult times when he took over the national team, because back then we didn't have many points."
