Visiting fans banned from showing team colors

Aug 04--Visiting fans at soccer matches in Colombia have been ordered not to wear team shirts, carry banners or club flags.

he move was instituted by Dimayor, which runs Colombian soccer, following weekend violence in the city of Armenia, where fans and police clashed in a match between Quindio and Atletico Nacional. The rival groups attacked each other with sticks and knives. At least 15 were injured -- including three police -- and 30 were arrested.

"Beginning from this date and until there are further orders, people carrying anything that makes reference to the visiting team (shirts, flags, caps, etc.) are prohibited from entering the stadiums," Dimayor said in a statement.
